The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian

November 5, 2007

The last book I read was a book for young adults called The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie. I read one of his books a long time ago called Reservation Blues which was made into this great movie called Smoke Signals. It starred the woman who played Marilyn in Northern Exposure and newcomer Adam Beach, who later went on to star in the Joe Leaphorn/Jim Chee mysteries by Tony Hillerman which were made into movies by Robert Redford. Adam Beach is most recently famous for his regular appearance on Law and Order: SVU. Did I mention that The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian is a National Book Award finalist this year? Sherman Alexie’s got some real talent. I love his books. Why don’t you try one?
